Lemera Terms of Service
1. Service provider
Lemera is provided by Meroviq. For questions, contact lemera@meroviq.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding agreement under applicable law to use Lemera. Lemera is not intended for children under 13.
3. Local app, no account
Lemera does not create a Meroviq user account, does not require sign-in, and does not operate a Lemera cloud backend. Group sessions, aliases, and photo-share metadata stay on your device unless you share them locally with other group members as described below.
4. What Lemera does
Lemera is a portrait-only group camera app. Depending on how you use it, Lemera may:
- use the device camera to capture photos and to scan a host QR code;
- on Android, start a device LocalOnlyHotspot so nearby members can join the same local group;
- show a host QR code that contains local Wi-Fi credentials and a local join endpoint (SSID, passphrase, host IP address, and join port);
- let a member join by scanning that QR code and connecting to the host hotspot;
- send captured JPEG photos, and local join/control/backlog metadata (for example member and group identifiers, sharing state, leave/remove/end metadata, and photoId/backlog requests), to other current group members over TCP on the local hotspot subnet (LAN P2P), not through a Meroviq server;
- save captured photos, and JPEGs received from other members, to the device Photos/Gallery and, after a successful local share, link that same asset into a group-named album without making a second JPEG copy;
- store local session metadata (such as group title, member alias, roster, and share status) in on-device preferences;
- open these legal pages in the device browser, open the device mail app for Contact Us, or share the public Play Store install link through the system share sheet.
5. Your content and local sharing
You keep any rights you have in photos and text you create in Lemera. You are responsible for the photos you capture and for what you share with other people in a local group.
When you share a photo in a group, that JPEG is transmitted on the local network to other current group members’ devices. Recipients save that JPEG to their device Photos/Gallery and, after a successful local share, may link the same asset into the group-named album without making a second JPEG copy. Meroviq does not receive, host, or store those photos on a Meroviq server.
Ending a group stops new sharing. Photos captured before the end time that were eligible but not yet received may still be delivered in a short backlog settlement immediately after End Group. Photos saved to Photos/Gallery remain under the device operating system’s photo library. Uninstalling Lemera does not by itself delete photos already stored in Photos/Gallery.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not use Lemera unlawfully or in a way that infringes others’ rights.
- Do not capture, share, or store harmful, abusive, exploitative, or illegal content, including child sexual abuse material.
- Do not use Lemera to distribute malware, spam, or deceptive content.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or interfere with other users’ devices or local networks except as permitted by law.
- Do not misuse Contact Us or these legal pages.
7. No in-app purchases or ads
The current Lemera app does not offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, advertising, or analytics SDKs operated by Meroviq.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is processed in connection with Lemera, including on-device storage, local network sharing, and device permissions.
9. Open source software
Lemera includes open source software and third-party components. Notices are published at Open Source Licenses.
10. Stopping use and local data
You may stop using Lemera at any time by closing or uninstalling the app. Uninstalling Lemera removes app preferences stored on the device. It does not delete photos already saved in the device Photos/Gallery, and it does not retract photos already received by other group members on their devices.
11. Changes to Lemera
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features of Lemera. We will try to avoid changes that materially reduce your rights without notice where notice is required by law.
12. Disclaimers
Lemera is provided “as is” and “as available.” Local hotspot, Wi-Fi, camera, and photo-library features depend on the device operating system. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meroviq disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meroviq will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Meroviq, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.
